Paula goes to art school, she becomes a painter and graphic artist. She is in a relationship with Joseph, he is married. When Paula becomes pregnant several times, she has an abortion. In 1957 she decides not to terminate her pregnancy.  Joseph gets to her, they marry and have two more children.
Joseph falls ill and dies in 1988.
Paula suffers from depression. Her work is the most important thing in her life.
